A Trusted Friend for Mountain Crop Protection: E-FLYTEC Agricultural Drone Operation Guidance and Application Case
Mountainous terrain means complex challenges, where traditional methods are inefficient and risky. Small agricultural drones like the E-FLYTEC NV20 and LV30, with their flexible drone frames and smart operation modes, offer farmers more convenient services for mountain operations.
Model selection and functional adaptation:
The FLY TEC NV20 agricultural drone has a payload capacity of 20 kg and a spray range of 7 meters, while ,the E-FLYTEC LV30 agricultural drone has a payload capacity of 30 kg and a spray range of 9 meters, making them suitable for small and medium-sized mountain orchards, such as coffee plantations in China's Yunnan and vineyards in Cape Town, South Africa.

The NV20 and LV30 are equipped with low-light full-color FPV and 75-watt lighting, supporting night operations; the LV30 features a high-torque motor and centrifugal disc, adapting to large fields and mountainous forest scenarios. In practice, we recommend pilots to select the mountain/fruit tree mode and enable omnidirectional obstacle avoidance and altitude-controlled circling to ensure flight stability.

Workflow and parameter settings:
How to prepare before setting up the workflow and parameters? Use the cross hairs or free-pointing mode to plan the plot and set up obstacle buffer zones.
What is the reference basis for adjusting flight parameters? It is, of course, based on crop adjustments. For example, for tall trees such as red pine, it is recommended to maintain a flight height of 10-15 meters, a spray width of 3-5 meters, and a row spacing of 6-8 meters. Here, we strongly advise pilots to thoroughly understand the specific characteristics of different crops, as a one-size-fits-all approach should not be applied to all crops.
How to ensure signal? For signal protection, please place the remote control at a high vantage point to avoid signal obstruction, and the 4G enhanced video transmission can be utilized.
Environmental and Safety Guidelines:
Mountainous area often experiences strong winds.we thought, If wind speeds exceed 5 meters per second, pilots should pause operations. During the hot summer months, it is advisable to conduct operations in the early morning or evening. Our pilots can utilize contour flight paths or adopt 3D modeling techniques, to adapt to terrain and prevent trajectory deviations. To ensure operational safety, mark static obstacles and establish safety buffer zones of at least 5 meters . For example, in terraced field areas, we recommend reserving an additional 3-meter buffer zone for pilots.
Application Case:
In a practical application case in Pu'er city, Yunnan, a tea farmer selected our LV30 drone. Through nighttime operations, the drone successfully completed pest and disease control for 500 mu (approximately 33 hectares) of tea plantation, achieving a threefold increase in efficiency and a 40% reduction in costs. Post-operation, the incidence of pests and diseases in the tea plantation significantly decreased, ensuring the quality of the tea.
E-FLYTEC agricultural drones significantly enhance mountainous plant protection efficiency and reduce labor costs through intelligent design and precision operations, becoming a new ally for modern farmers. The safety and practicality of our products provide reliable solutions for complex terrain operations.
